PURPOSE:  We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled instructional designer or technologist to join our team. Experience in utilizing Articulate Storyline is preferable. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative and effective e-learning projects as part of a grant-funded initiative. This role requires a blend of creative, technical, and educational skills to design, develop, and implement online learning materials and courses. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply and expand instructional design skills while contributing to impactful e-learning projects. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  Division of Public Health Protection and Safety (PHPS)

Hourly:  $30.29 – $31.81

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  NONE

PROBATIONARY PERIOD:  This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Design and Development:  Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify learning objectives and design interactive e-learning courses. Develop storyboards and scripts for e-learning modules. Utilize various e-learning authoring tools to create engaging and visually appealing course content. Ensure all e-learning projects are pedagogically sound and adhere to instructional design principles.
2. Project Management:  Manage e-learning project timelines and deliverables efficiently. Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met. Provide regular progress updates to the project supervisor and team.
3. Quality Assurance:  Conduct testing and evaluation of e-learning materials to ensure quality and effectiveness. Gather and analyze feedback from learners and instructors to make necessary improvements.
4. Research and Innovation:  Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in e-learning and instructional design. Contribute ideas for innovative e-learning solutions and strategies.
5. Documentation and Reporting:  Document design processes and decisions. Prepare reports on project outcomes and learner engagement metrics.
6. Serves as a resource to agency management during evaluation and monitoring of information for projects.
7. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:  Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Enrolled in a MS Instructional Design and Learning Technologies
•Experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise) andmultimedia
production.
•Understanding of instructional design theories and models.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
•Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Skills:
•Experience in developing online courses or educational materials.
•Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
•Creative problem-solving skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:  Work is performed both in an office setting and on various sites. Travel throughout the state may be required.

1.This position requires a clean drug screen prior to and randomly throughout employment.
2.Must possess a valid driver’s license.
3.Background checks conducted prior to hire and updated annually.
4.Some local and out of state travel opportunities for training, conferences, workshops, etc.
5.Position may require variations in hours to meet project deadlines to include overtime.
6.Required to maintain a valid driver’s license and required to drive a licensed vehicle.
