Title: Peer Support Specialist

Location: KRCC/ Lee County; Substance Abuse Program

Employment type: Full Time

Education: High School and/or GED

Special Skills: Must have at least 1 (one) year of active recovery; one-year post-recovery/treatment program completion.

Primary Duties:

  • Serve as an active member of the client’s treatment team, including participation in team meetings and treatment planning meetings.
  • Assist clients in development of recovery plan including psychiatric advance directives and crisis plan.
  • Implement and coordinate recovery plans for individual clients in assigned population group, including evaluation, consultation, education and follow-up services.
  •  Serve as role model for clients by sharing own recovery process and teaching effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
  • Inform supervisor and other members of treatment team, as indicated, of issues/concerns related to individual clients.
